August Daily Scripture Writing Plan

August is nearly upon us. Polish up an apple for the teacher, pack those healthy lunches for your littles and don’t forget those “First Day of School” photos. (I can’t wait to see them!) Oh. And be sure to download the August Daily Scripture Writing Plan!

That’s right! Here in the Southeast we’re all getting ready to send our kids back to school. I’ve been running like crazy getting forms signed, purchasing supplies and registering for all the things. I’d like to say it’s been smooth sailing, but since my kids are moving from homeschool to public school it’s been mostly been like a ride on Disney’s Space Mountain. I have no idea what’s coming next! But I’m sure our family will get to the end of the ride and everybody will have a great first day of school!

If your little world doesn’t revolve around a school calendar, I hope you’ll humor us here at Middle Places. Because we totally went there…

Our theme for August is …
“In the Middle of Learning.”

As I sat down to write for this month, I realized just how wide this topic could be. It’s a launching point for so much of life! You could be learning a new vocation or learning patience or  a new hobby or you could even be learning how to study the Bible. The possibilities are endless.

I so foolishly thought I wouldn’t have to learn anything else when I graduated from college. Then I married my high school sweetheart. And I’m still learning how to be a lifelong, loyal wife to my husband. Then I became a mother. And wow! Will I ever stop learning about parenting? There is always a new phase! Then I started homeschooling. And I learned that I really do still love learning. I love wondering about the world we live in and finding answers to my questions. I loved exploring those thoughts with my children. And then I started blogging and created my own business. Now, I’m basically a free webinar junkie, always learning the latest technology and design tips.

And in the middle of all of that, God was continually revealing new things to me about myself. I was learning how to be a more faithful follower of Jesus. I was learning how to love better, how to respond in a crisis, how to give when I thought I had nothing left to give.

This month’s Daily Scripture Writing Plan is focused on learning about who God is and on what He wants us to be doing for His kingdom. You’ll even get a little taste of some of the special names God has been known by throughout scriptures!
